SUMMARY:The Centrality of the Word in Baptist Ecclesiology
DESCRIPTION:\nJoin us April 24-26, 2026 for this important conference. The concept addresses how local church structure, governance, and daily life must be exclusively dictated by the Bible rather than pragmatic models or cultural trends. Under the leadership of pastors and scholars like Dr. James M. Hamilton Jr., the Kenwood theological stream treats the Scriptures not merely as a book of doctrine, but as an active “ministry manual” that explicitly defines how a local church must function.\n\n\n\nFriday, April 24\n\n\n\n\nCheck-In opens at 3:00 p.m.\n\n\n\nWelcome at 5:30 p.m. in worship hall\n\n\n\nDinner & dessert at 5:45 p.m. in fellowship hall\n\n\n\nSession 1: Preaching the Word with Kenwood Network Pastor Ryan Bishop at 7:00 p.m. in worship hall (childcare ages 0–4 at 6:45 p.m.)\n\n\n\nBonfire & Pipe Night Fellowship hosted by the Kenwood Parsonage at 8:00 p.m.\n\n\n\nWrap at 9:30 p.m.\n\n\n\n\nSaturday, April 25\n\n\n\n\nDoors open at 8:00 a.m.\n\n\n\nWelcome & Ministry Update at 8:30 a.m. in worship hall\n\n\n\nBreakfast at 8:45 a.m. in fellowship hall\n\n\n\nSession 2: Singing the Word with Kenwood Network Pastor Josh Philpot at 10:00 a.m. in worship hall (childcare ages 0–4 at 9:45 a.m.)\n\n\n\nWrap at 11:00 a.m.\n\n\n\nSenior pastor roundtable at 3:00 p.m.\n\n\n\nSession 3: Participating in the Word with Kenwood Institute Director Tom Sculthorpe at 4:00 p.m. in worship hall (childcare ages 0–4 at 3:30 p.m.) w/ Conference Picture\n\n\n\nDinner at 5:30 p.m. in fellowship hall\n\n\n\nDessert Reception for Pastor’s Wives at 6:30 p.m.\n\n\n\nTestimonial recordings at 7:00 p.m. in studio\n\n\n\nWrap at 8:00 p.m\n\n\n\n\nSunday, April 26\n\n\n\n\nSunday School at 9:45 a.m. w/ Nursery & Kenwood Kids\n\n\n\nCorporate Worship at 10:45 a.m. w/ Session 4: Reading & Praying the Word with Kenwood Senior Pastor Jim Hamilton in worship hall (nursery ages 0–2 and children’s church ages 3–4)\n\n\n\nPotluck at 12:15 p.m. in fellowship hall\n\n\n\nSpecial thanks and Conference Farewell at 12:45 p.m. in fellowship hall\n\n
